Press up on the back cover and slide it off.

Insert the battery so that the metal pins at the top of the phone are touching the metal bars on the battery. Make sure to position the top of the battery first and then push the bottom in gently until it clicks.

Once the battery is in, place the cover back on the phone by sliding the tabs into the base first and then pressing down the top until it clicks.
